Mann 1050 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa gathered by G. Mann on the Gabon Estuary, in what is now Estuaire Province, Gabon, in 1861. The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris holds the sheet as P06829903.[1][2][3]
Collection and locality
The museum's catalogue gives the collector as Mann, G., the number 1050, the locality Gaboon River (an English name for the estuary) and a span of years from 1859 to 1863.[2] Tropicos, the database of the Missouri Botanical Garden, lists a Paris sheet of the same plant as Gustav Mann 1050, from the Estuaire du Gabon. in 1861, determined by J. Villiers.[3]
Specimen and identification
Both catalogues file the plant as Cannabis sativa L. The museum's catalogue records that leaf tissue was taken from the sheet in March 2021 for C. J. Grassa of Harvard University.[2][3]
