The sheet carries a printed label headed Botanisches Museum der Universität Zürich. and Plantæ africæ australis. The determination Cannabis sativa L. is written by hand. Beneath it a printed line reads Kapkolonie: with Belfort, I. and 1912 written in, and a second printed line reading Transvaal: is struck through. The last line reads No. 331. leg. Dr. Jacottet und Frl. Jacottet.

Three statements of where it comes from

The label says Cape Colony. GBIF codes the country as Switzerland, which is the herbarium's own country and not the sheet's. The coordinate GBIF publishes, -30.180278, 28.72, falls inside Lesotho. No two of the three agree. The accession follows the label, which is the primary witness, and files the sheet under South Africa with the catalogue's own region, the Eastern Cape.
