The sheet carries a printed label of the taxonomic herbarium of the Department of Pharmacy, Beijing Medical College (北京醫學院藥學系分類標本室), completed by hand. It gives the name Cannabis sativa L., with a male sign in pencil, and 大麻, the place 北京天壇 (Temple of Heaven, Peking), the date 1943年8月 (August 1943) and two collectors, 石戸谷勉 and 錢德亮; the lines for the determiner, the remarks and the number are blank.[2] The catalogue gives 钱德亮 and others, the year and Beijing.[1]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries a tall, bare stem with a few palmate leaves of five to seven serrate leaflets and a much-branched male panicle of open flowers. The label names the plant Cannabis sativa L., with no determiner.[2] The Chinese Virtual Herbarium publishes its sheet images under a non-commercial, no-derivatives licence (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0); they are read and cited here, not reproduced.
