Malari (Chamoli) 2021 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that the Indian Landrace Exchange lists in its genetic library as Malari, (Chamoli). The group describes it as an heirloom of the belt between Tapovan and Malari in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, where it says cannabis grows at up to 3,000 metres or more.[1]
Geography
The entry divides the cannabis of the Chamoli belt into two types: a tall hash-plant type found from Dehradun to Joshimath, and a shorter type, closer to broad-leaf varieties, found from Jelum village, 15 km beyond Tapovan, up to the Niti valley. It files the plants between Tapovan and Malari, where it says the type stays constant, under the name Malari.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
The group describes plants about 6 to 7 feet tall with broad leaves only early in growth and narrow leaflets in flowering, ripening at about 10 to 11 weeks, with sweet, fruity smells of mango and orange candy with spice, and a clear, uplifting effect.[1]
