Grierson 4168 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa subsp. sativa collected on a roadside at Tintibi Bridge over the Mangde Chu, in central Bhutan, at about 540 metres on 31 March 1982 by Andrew John Charles Grierson and David Geoffrey Long. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh holds the sheet as E00137591.[1][2]
Collection and locality
The typed Flora of Bhutan label gives the locality as Tongsa district: Tintibi Bridge, Mangde Chu. with the coordinates 27°11' 90°40', the habitat On roadside., the altitude c. 540 m and the date 31 Mar 1982. It is signed Coll. A.J.C. Grierson & D.G. Long, number 4168.[3] The catalogue gives the collectors, number and date and no locality.[1]
The infobox stores the label's own coordinates at two decimals. The label files the bridge under Tongsa, now Trongsa; the point falls today in Zhemgang District, which is where the province field places it.
Description
The label describes a Small herb 55 cm, dioecious, flowers green.[3]
Specimen and identification
The label determines the plant as Cannabis sativa L. subsp. sativa; the catalogue and GBIF give Cannabis sativa L.[3][1] A duplicate of the same gathering, under the same number, is at the California Academy of Sciences.[4] Edinburgh publishes the sheet image under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence.[3]
