Fortune s.n. is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa from China, from the collection that Robert Fortune made for the Horticultural Society of London. Its label is dated 1856. The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris holds the sheet as P06884264.[1]
Collection and locality
The printed museum label reads Herb. Mus. Paris. and Chine. Mr Fortune. Collection de la Société Horticulturale de Londres. 1856, with the name Cannabis sativa written by hand and one more handwritten word after the date.[2]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries two leafy flowering tops with narrow leaflets.[2] The label names the plant Cannabis sativa, and the catalogue Cannabis sativa L.[2][1]
