Kilimanjaro Sativa 2020 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that East Africa Genes sells under the name Kilimanjaro Sativa and has also called Elephant Stomper. The seller says the seed comes from villages at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and offers it among the lines it calls landrace sativas.[1][2][3] The line has been on the seller's catalogue since its earliest archived version, of August 2020.[4]
Geography
The catalogue says the line comes from northern Tanzania "near the famous area", where, it says, all growers cultivate in hiding because cannabis is illegal, and that the soil pH is slightly acidic to neutral.[1] In 2024 the seller wrote that the seed originates from villages at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.[3] A 2026 blog post says it is grown in rural villages on the mountain's slopes, at 1,000 to 1,800 metres.[5]
History
The seller wrote in 2024 that the line is widely popular in East Africa and that it smokes it often in Nairobi.[3]
