Taskenti 2002 is a seed accession of Taskenti, a cannabis line that Cannabiogen, a seed company in Spain then styled CannaBioGen, listed on its website by June 2002. The Spanish page called it "una variedad 100% índica, proveniente de Uzbekistán", a pure indica variety from Uzbekistan.[1] The English page of 2003 reads "A 100% Indica originated in Uzbekistan".[2]
Geography
The company names Uzbekistan and no region, town or site within it. It says that the line was easy to acclimatise because the latitude and altitude at which it is grown in its place of origin are similar to those of the mountains of southern Spain.[1]
History
According to the company, the line takes its name from the hashish made from it, which experts held to be the best in the world. It says that it carried out careful selection and improvement to fix the most important traits, so that the line could be grown both indoors, hydroponically included, and outdoors.[1][2]
The regular-seed catalogue of October 2012 still listed Taskenti, with the type "Indica Uzbekistan" and an indoor flowering time of 70 days.[3] The company's 2013 listing of feminised Taskenti seed reads "An Indica originated in Uzbekistan crossed in first instance to a NL" and gives an indoor maturation of 10 weeks.[4]
Cultivation Details
The 2002 listing gives a vegetative period of at least 30 days for a high yield, a flowering time of 55 to 65 days, an outdoor harvest in mid-October and a yield of 350 to 400 grams per square metre. It says that plants grown indoors mature in seven to nine weeks and need good ventilation and a dry atmosphere, above all during flowering.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
The company calls the line very potent and resinous, with an enormous yield, above all outdoors.[2]
Aroma
The English page describes "a refined and subtle hashish perfume, a shade between mint and lemon, very intense".[2]
