Barthe 1 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa from the Philippines, credited to J. Barthe. The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris holds the sheet as P06884253.[1] Its catalogue gives no date.
Collection and locality
The catalogue gives the collector as Barthe, J., the number as 1 and the country as the Philippines. Its locality field reads [illisible] (illegible), and it records no date and no habitat.[1] A printed stamp at the foot of the sheet reads M BARTHE - PHILIPPINES and, on the line below, reçu en (received in) with a year that is not fully legible in the published image.[2]
Cultivation observation
The sheet carries two handwritten labels in Spanish. The upper one reads Cultiva en huertas or Cultivo en huertas (grown in gardens).[2]
Specimen and identification
The lower label is headed by a word in parentheses that reads Ganja, its first letter under an ink blot, with Nº1 to the right. Three lines of faint handwriting run below a rule.[2] The sheet holds a single branching stem with narrow, serrated leaflets, fixed down with paper strips.[2]
The catalogue records the preparation as a herbarium sheet and the name as Cannabis sativa L., with no determiner named. Its identification remark reads operation de numerisation 2010-2012.[1] One image of the sheet is published with the occurrence under a Creative Commons Attribution licence.[1]
