Anon. s.n. is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa gathered in the environs of Guryev, today's Atyrau in Atyrau Region, Kazakhstan, in 1895, and signed by the head of the Guryev navigation classes, who is named by post and not by name. The Moscow University Herbarium holds the sheet as MW0818719.[1]
Collection and locality
The label is written 1895. Уральск. обл., окр. г. Гурьева. (1895. Ural Oblast, environs of the town of Guryev), and at its lower right Завед. Гурьевск. мореходн. класс. (head of the Guryev navigation classes).[2] The catalogue gives the year, with no collector and no locality.[1] Guryev was the name of Atyrau until 1991.
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries a single slender stem with a sparse flowering top, and a detached leaf.[2] The label names no plant. A typed slip gives the redetermination of the sheet by E. Small of Canada Agriculture in August 1975 as Cannabis sativa L., the only determination on the sheet and the name under which the catalogue files it.[2][1]
