Identifier
The accession identifier is RSC-PAK-KHY-0120190002, built from the holder, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, the province segment, the month, the year and the sequence number.
- Province segment
KHYis for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province of South Waziristan, as on RSC-PAK-KHY-0120190001. - Year 2019 is the year of the listing's earliest archived version and of RSC's post announcing the line, October 2019; the sources do not give the year of the harvest. The month digits are
01. - Sequence 0002. RSC-PAK-KHY-0120190001 (Chitrali) already holds 0001 for this province segment and year.
Sourcing
The RSC listing for Waziri as it stood on 27 October 2026 and its 19 versions in the Wayback Machine from October 2019 to July 2026; the Kwik Seeds listing as it stood on 26 October 2026; RSC's post of 4 October 2019; and the GRIN-Global entry for G 33770. Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose).
Lots at this listing
All 19 archived versions give the South Waziristan sourcing, so one collection has been on sale. The versions from October 2019 to December 2022 (seven) sell it without comment. Those from June 2023 to May 2024 (three) say "The current seeds are from a reproduction outdoors in northern Spain", and those from September 2024 (nine) "from a maintenance grow outdoors in northern Spain". The collection and the reproduction are kept as separate accessions: this page and RSC-PAK-KHY-0120190002-R1.
Evidentiary scope
The sources name the bazaar where the seed was bought, not the fields it was grown in, and give no year of harvest. RSC's statement that all local farmers obtain their seeds at the bazaar is its own and is attributed.
Typing
- Classification: Landrace, sourcing type
Point of Origin, autochtonousYes: the seed was bought at the local market from which, the listing says, the area's farmers take their seed. - Collector. Left blank. The listing credits Kushman, and the convention enters
Angusonly for RSC's own and Landrace Genetics sourcing lines. - Province. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province in which South Waziristan lies. District is left empty: OpenStreetMap now places Toi Khullah in Lower South Waziristan District, while the listing names the older, undivided South Waziristan.
- Locality is left empty: Toi Khullah is where the seed was bought, not a place where it is said to have been grown. It is discussed under Georeferencing.
- Growing region. Left empty. The listing places South Waziristan in the "Pakistani Hindu Kush", but the wiki's Hindu Kush growing region takes in only Chitral on the Pakistani side, and no growing region on the wiki covers Waziristan. The listing's words stay in the article, attributed to RSC.
- Collection date is left empty: the sources do not give the year of the harvest.
- Height is left empty: RSC gives up to 2 metres, and Kwik Seeds and RSC in 2019 1 to 2.5 metres.
- Lot.
sold, from the versions of 2019 to 2022, which sell this seed before the reproduction. - Processing. "Charas (sieved resin)" is entered as
Dry-sift. - Conventions. Photoperiod
Short-dayand introgressionMinimalfollow the other RSC accessions; the listing states neither.
Georeferencing
The point 32.05, 69.64 is the town of Toi Khullah, OpenStreetMap node 2835172792, in Toi Khullah Tehsil, Lower South Waziristan District. The listing names it as the charas bazaar where the seed was bought, "where all local farmers obtain their seeds", so the point marks the market that supplies the area's growers, not their fields, which the sources do not name. OpenStreetMap gave no outline for the town in the look-ups made; the uncertainty covers the town and the land near it. Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 5 km.
Source discrepancies
- Height. RSC: "Up to 2 metres outdoors". Kwik Seeds and RSC in 2019: "1 – 2.5 metres outdoors".
- Sourcing. RSC in 2019: "Personally collected at source in South Waziristan". RSC since September 2020 and Kwik Seeds: "Kushman, South Waziristan".
- Reproduction. RSC from June 2023: "a reproduction outdoors in northern Spain"; RSC since September 2024: "a maintenance grow outdoors in northern Spain"; Kwik Seeds: "reproductions outdoors in northern Spain".
- Genetics line. RSC: "Hindu Kush Cannabis Landrace". Kwik Seeds: "Traditional Hindu Kush Domesticate ("Landrace")". RSC in October 2019: "Pure Hindu Kush Landrace Strain".
Photographs
None. The listing's photographs of plants first appear in June 2023 and September 2024, after the seed on sale became the reproduction, and are on RSC-PAK-KHY-0120190002-R1. Its photograph of men smoking, which it describes as NIFA Sufi mujahideen in Oruzgan, Afghanistan, in 1990, is not of this line and is not used.
