Chitrali General Population 2019 is a landrace cannabis accession collected in 2019 in the Chitral region of the Hindu Kush, Pakistan. It was the stock The Real Seed Company (RSC) sold under the listing Chitrali until a later collection replaced it.[1]
Collection Details
The listing gave the sourcing as Landrace Genetics, Yarkhun Valley, Chitral, Hindu Kush, 2019 Harvest.[1] That line stands in the archived version of 5 August 2020.[1] The listing names no village or farmer.
The listing sold this stock at a 50 per cent discount with a note that it was testing at around 60 to 70 per cent viability, below RSC's usual policy of not listing seed that tests below 80 per cent, and that seedlings were healthy and vigorous.[1] Versions offering it also carried the classification Cannabis sativa subsp. indica var. afghanica × C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
While this stock was on sale the listing described a landrace of wide phenotypic range, from small, compact, broad-leafleted Indica types to tall, narrow- or broad-leafleted Sativa types, with plants varying outdoors from 1 metre to over 3 metres, dense and resinous buds, and pink stigmas as a common trait.[1] It gave aromas ranging from intense mandarin and sour "kushy" scents to gasoline, and reported that a high proportion of plants show CBD.[1]
Cultivation Details
RSC gave the purpose as charas (sieved resin), a latitude of about 35° N and a harvest from late September to early November.[1]
