Suvarnakoses 213 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Khiri Wong in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, southern Thailand, on 16 December 1951 by P. Suvarnakoses. The Forest Herbarium (BKF) in Bangkok holds the sheet as accession BKF 7428, barcode SN 009261.[1]
Collection and locality
The sheet carries two labels. The older, headed พฤกษชาติของประเทศไทย, gives the locality as ทับช้าง คีรีวง, the collector's number as 213 and the local name as กัญชา.[2] The Forest Herbarium's later Flora of Thailand label gives the locality as P: Nakhon Srithamarat, Tab Chang, Khiri Wong, the altitude as 400 m. and the date as 16 Dec. 1951.[2] The catalogue gives the locality as Thap Chang, Khiri Wong.[1]
Recorded local name and use
The later label gives the local name as Kan cha and records the plant as Used for smoking.[2]
Cultivation observation
The label describes the plant as Scattered in open area, uncommon, crop in garden.[2]
Specimen and identification
The note begins Herb, 30 cm. tall and describes the leaves as narrow, serrate margin, light green above, whitish underneath and the fruits as green, deltoid.[2] The label and the catalogue name the plant Cannabis sativa L.[1] No determiner is named.
ZOM-THA-SOU-0420253001 is a seed accession collected at Kiriwong in April 2025.
