Yasin Valley General Population 2022 is a landrace cannabis accession from the Yasin Valley, in Gilgit-Baltistan, northern Pakistan, listed as Yasin Valley in the seed catalogue of The Real Seed Company (RSC).[1] RSC describes it as a landrace collected in the Hindu Kush by Landrace Genetics, from the 2022 harvest.[1] The line is on sale at RSC and on its Kwik Seeds site (checked 27 October 2026).[1][2]

Geography

RSC gives a latitude of 36° N and places the valley in the Hindu Kush range of northern Pakistan.[1]

Collection Details

The listing gives the sourcing as "Landrace Genetics, Yasin Valley, Hindu Kush (2022)"; its earliest archived version, of April 2024, read "Landrace Genetics, Yasin Valley, Hindu Kush Range, 2022 Harvest".[1][3] Neither listing names a village or farmer.[1][2]

Cultivation Details

RSC gives the purposes as charas (sieved resin), culinary seed and bhang (coarse flower and leaf), and the harvest as late September through October. It lists outdoor, greenhouse or indoor growing.[1]

Botanical Characteristics

RSC gives a height of up to about 2 metres, and expects plants similar to those of its accession Chitrali.[1] Since September 2024 the listing has shown photographs that it describes as plants of the accession at 40° N in mid-July.[4] It reports that the seed was germination-tested in summer 2025, with 100 per cent viability; the Kwik Seeds listing says "high viability".[1][2] In May 2025 RSC showed a Yasin Valley plant with atypical phyllotaxy, the arrangement of its leaves on the stem.[5]
