Afghan Lemon 2018 is a seed accession of Afghan Lemon, a line that Khalifa Genetics says it selected from its own Balkh Hash Plant (Balkh Hash Plant 2018). The company sells only feminised seed of it and calls it a stabilised phenotype of that Afghan landrace.[1]
Selection
According to the company, its team found an outstanding lemon-scented plant in 2019 while growing out the Balkh line for preservation; the plant was frostier than most and had an unusual flavour. It says that Khalifa Genetics and Bestgrower_420 then stabilised the phenotype over more than three years "to turn it into a true breeding strain", and it calls the result an IBL.[1] ACE Seeds, which stocks the line, says that it was "selfed once and then inbred through line breeding".[2]
