Cleghorn s.n. is an accession record for a pressed Cannabis sativa specimen collected by Hugh Francis Clarke Cleghorn in the Nilgiri Hills in 1859. The locality lies in present-day Tamil Nadu, India. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh holds it as catalogue E00248824.[1] GBIF publishes it as occurrence 575259294.[2]
Collection and locality
The Madras Herb label gives the habitat or locality as Neelgherry Hills, names H. F. Cleghorn as collector and records the year 1859.[3] No altitude or ecological observation is entered.[3]
Specimen and identification
The collection label identifies the material as Cannabis sativa.[3] The digitised herbarium sheet also carries a separate Cannabis collection from the Northern Circars dated 1852 and catalogued under barcode E00248823; E00248824 identifies the 1859 Nilgiri Hills material mounted on the right.[3]
