Anon. s.n., India (undated) is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa whose label gives the name Bangue. The sheet carries the stamp of the Edinburgh University Herbarium. It is E00248601 at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, whose catalogue files it under India.[1][2]
Label and stamps
A small old label at the foot of the sheet reads Cannabis, sativa and Bangue, under a first line that may read Cannabineae.[3] A faint stamp at the top reads Edinburgh University Herbarium; a second, near the foot, is too faint to read.[3] The University of Edinburgh's herbarium was formally transferred to the Royal Botanic Garden in 1872.[4] Edinburgh catalogues the sheet under India.[1]
Specimen and identification
One slender, sparsely leafy stem is mounted.[3] The plant is named Cannabis sativa on the label and in the catalogue.[3][1]
