Suripara Feral Selection 2025 is a feral landrace cannabis accession collected by Éloïse and Isabella of the Zomia Collective in West Bengal, India.
Geography
Suripara is located in Alipurduar District, West Bengal, India, within the Jaldapara landrace cannabis growing area of The Dooars growing region.
Administratively, the locality belongs to the Alipurduar sub-district within Alipurduar district. The site sits at 86 metres elevation on the alluvial floodplain belt of the eastern Dooars, between the Bhutan foothills to the north and the Brahmaputra valley to the south.
Collection Details
This accession was documented by Éloïse and Isabella in June 2025. Seeds were hand selected from a self-seeding, feral landrace cannabis population of approximately 50 plants found growing near Suripara village.
The seeds come from an autochthonous, feral landrace cannabis population.
Botanical Characteristics
The plants are dioecious with a short-day photoperiod response and an estimated indoor flowering time of 18 to 24 weeks. Leaf shape is narrow.
Further morphological data has not been recorded.
Conservation Status
The accession is recorded at medium conservation priority.
The population is recorded as autochthonous and pure landrace, growing as a self-reproducing feral stand within the wider Dooars feral belt. Widespread feral populations are present across the Jaldapara growing area and the broader Dooars region.
