Yabe s.n. is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected outside Dongbianmen (東便門), a gate of the old outer city of Peiping (Beijing), China, on 10 June 1945 by a collector named on the labels as Y. Yabe. The Institute of Botany, Jiangsu Province and Chinese Academy of Sciences in Nanjing holds two sheets, NAS00290134[1] and NAS00290142[2].
Collection and locality
Both sheets carry a label of the herbarium of the Institute of Botany, Academia Sinica (國立中央研究院植物研究所標本室), filled in by hand with the same entries: the locality Peiping, the note 東便门外 (outside Dongbianmen), the collector Y. Yabe and the date Jun. 10, 1945. The lines for the determiner and the date of determination are blank.[3][4] The catalogue gives the collector as Y. Yabe, no number, the year 1905 and Beijing for both.[1][2]
Specimen and identification
NAS00290134 carries two leafy branches with palmate leaves of narrow, serrate leaflets and a cut piece of stem; NAS00290142 a large leafy branch with a male flowering top and the base of the stem.
