In January Banarhat police destroyed cannabis grown behind vegetable crops at Salbari in Jalpaiguri; in February the Border Security Force and the Narcotics Control Bureau seized five quintals of ganja and destroyed about five acres of cultivation on the Cooch Behar border; and in November Sitai police and the Border Security Force destroyed cannabis across about 16 bighas at Kanjlikura.
