Colombian Gold 2016 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that World of Seeds sells as Colombian Gold, another name for Santa Marta Gold, the trade name for marijuana grown in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The company says that the line combines "pure strains" from the Santa Marta mountain range of Colombia.[1]
History
Origin, as the company tells it
The company describes the range below 2,500 m as fertile ground with Andean woods and tropical jungle. It says that cannabis has been grown there for many generations, and that local people, by breeding the plant over and over for its medicinal properties, made some of the most genetically pure strains in existence.[1]
Growth
The company calls the plant a tall, vigorous and branchy sativa. It gives a harvest of 70 to 90 days indoors and the end of November outdoors, with yields of 350 g indoors and 450 to 600 g outdoors. It rates the line's resistance to mould and to pests as medium.[1] The line is sold as regular and as feminised seed.[1]
Aroma and effects
The company calls the fragrance intense and sweet, the taste sweet and fruity, and the effect a potent, cerebral sativa high, which it also calls psychedelic. It gives a THC content of 19.3 per cent.[1]
