An infobox for a trade route: a documented movement of cannabis (a preparation, fibre or seed) between named places over a known period, historical or modern. It is used on the article about the route itself. An article about the spread of cannabis in general, or about the licensed trade inside one territory, does not carry it. Every page that carries it is placed in Category:Trade Routes.
Every value comes from the sources the page cites. A modern route is described at the level of place its sources name.

Leave a field empty rather than guess it.
Place lists
commodity, origin, via and destination take bare page titles separated by semicolons, with no link markup: the template makes the links. Each place may carry its point after an @, in decimal degrees (Leh @ 34.15, 77.58). The point is not shown; it is rounded to two decimal places and stored for the map. A place given without a point is stored but not drawn.
In via, the semicolons give the order in which the places were passed. A slash separates places that were alternatives at the same stage: Kulu / Kashmir is shown as "Kulu or Kashmir".

Waypoints
Each place in origin, via and destination is also stored as a waypoint subobject, linked back to the page by Property:Has route page, with Property:Has waypoint place, Property:Has waypoint step (0 for the origin, then the places by way of in order, then the destination), Property:Has waypoint role and, when the place has a point, Property:Has coordinates. A map joins each stage's places to the next stage's, so the line it draws is schematic. See Module:Trade route.
Timeline
When period_start is a single year, the template adds a timeline subobject: Property:Has timeline year from and Property:Has timeline year to from the two years, Property:Has timeline label from timeline_label (else the page title), and Property:Has timeline kind Trade route. With no period_end, the last year is left empty when the status is Still in use (the route runs to the present) and is otherwise the first year. The subobject has no point of its own; the map draws the route from its waypoints.
