Template:Infobox Legal Instrument/doc

Template page

An infobox for treaties, statutes and other legal instruments of drug control that govern cannabis. It is used on the article about the instrument itself, never on a page that only cites it. Every page that carries it is placed in Category:Legal instruments.

An instrument adopted before 1946 and no longer in force is described as a historical source and carries {{Infobox Historical Source}} instead.

Usage

Semantic properties

The template stores the following properties with #set. The other parameters are display only.

Parameter Property Type
type Has instrument type Text, fixed values
jurisdiction (not when International) Has jurisdiction Page
adopted_date Has adoption date Date
entry_into_force_date Has entry into force Date
status Has instrument status Text, fixed values
official_text Has official text URL URL
supersedes Supersedes Page, several values
superseded_by Superseded by Page, several values

The two dates are stored only from their _date parameters, because a Date property misreads a date written in words or as a range.
