Template:External accession

An outside genebank's or data archive's accession of this accession's material or data. Used inside the genebank_accessions and sequence_data fields of Template:Accession, one call per external accession:

(The second line shows the form only. SAMN35085931 is a real BioSample, of the hemp cultivar Kompolti grown from USDA NPGS G 33340, and belongs on no accession here.)

Each call prints one line in the accession's infobox and stores one subobject, so external accessions can be queried across the wiki: every accession held at a genebank, every accession with sequence data.

Parameters

• 1 - the repository's key in Module:External repositories (NPGS,

 BIOSAMPLE, …). The module's table lists them all.

• 2 - the identifier, written as the repository writes it. The module checks its form

 and builds the link; a malformed identifier prints an error and files the page in
 Category:Pages with external accession errors.

• relation - one of:
  • Same lot (the default): the repository holds, or sequenced, this accession's own seed lot.
  • Source of this accession: this accession was obtained from the repository's accession.
  • Grown from this accession: the repository holds material regenerated from this accession.
  • Other sheet of this gathering: for a herbarium accession, the material or data came from another sheet of the same gathering (a duplicate held elsewhere), not from the sheet the accession's catalogue number names.
• date - when the repository received the material or released the data, as an ISO

 date (2023-08-22). A day-first date is misread as month-first.

• note - a short qualifier printed after the link, such as the genebank holding a

 sequenced plant came from.

A different lot of the same line is not an external accession of this accession. It is a separate accession, linked through related_accession. Another sheet of the same herbarium gathering is not a separate lot: it is the same collection event, so its sample is listed here with the relation Other sheet of this gathering. The evidence that an external accession is this lot (who collected it, where, which year) is set out on the accession's Talk page. A repository's own "collector" field is not that evidence on its own: a genebank may enter the donor there.

A query for accession pages that carry one uses a property chain: [[Category:Accessions]][[Has subobject.Has external accession type::Biological sample]].

The #arraymap-free form is deliberate: each external accession is its own call, so no separator has to survive inside an identifier.
