Discussion
Sources
- The Wanbing huichun, section 大便閉, as transcribed in simplified characters on Chinese Wikisource: the eleven drugs, the dosing, the pill form and the variations.
- The transcription writes 浓朴 for 厚朴 (magnolia bark), a known misreading; the article gives 厚朴.
- The Wikisource header puts the book in the Ming and gives the year 1615, which may be that of an edition. The article gives no date for the book.
Is it cannabis?
- The drug is 麻仁 (去殼), shelled cannabis seed, the huomaren of Chinese medicine.
Kind and plant part
- Traditional medicine. Seed.
- Still made: not known. The Japanese kampō formula of the same name is not on the page: the sources cited do not cover it.
