Identifier

The accession identifier is RSC-SDN-UNK-0120080001, built from the holder, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, the province segment, the month, the year and the sequence number.

  • Province segment UNK. The listing names the Nile River region of southern Sudan and no state.
  • Year 2008 is the year in the sourcing line. The month digits are 01 because no month is given.
  • Sequence 0001. It is the only RSC accession for Sudan.

Sourcing

The RSC listing for Sudanese as it stood on 27 October 2026 and its 21 versions in the Wayback Machine from September 2020 to March 2026; the Kwik Seeds listing as it stood on 26 October 2026; RSC's posts of 6 June 2020 and 15 August 2025; and the GRIN-Global entry for G 33762. Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose).

Lots at this listing

All 21 archived versions give the sourcing "The Real Seed Company, Sudan, 2008", so one collection has been on sale. No version says whether the seed sold is collected seed or a reproduction; the donor's note of August 2023 on G 33762 calls it seed from an ex situ maintenance grow. This page is the 2008 collection and carries no lot fields; the seed on sale is RSC-SDN-UNK-0120080001-R1.

Typing

  • Classification: Landrace, sourcing type Point of Origin, autochtonous Yes: the listing describes seed collected in Sudan.
  • Collector. Angus, as on the other accessions whose sourcing line reads "The Real Seed Company".
  • Country: Sudan, the listing's word. The donor's note on G 33762 says South Sudan, a separate country since 2011; "southern Sudan" in 2008 lay within Sudan, and the sources do not name a place that would settle on which side of today's border the seed was gathered.
  • Purpose and processing. "Ganja (seedless or lightly seeded buds)" is entered as purpose Recreation and processing Ganja.
  • Traits are the listing's: height, aromas and the semi-autoflowering habit describe the plants RSC grows from the line.
  • Conventions. Photoperiod Short-day and introgression Minimal follow the other RSC accessions; the listing calls the line semi-autoflowering and does not state introgression.

Georeferencing

No point is given. The listing names only "the Nile River region of southern Sudan" and the donor's note "the Nile River region of South Sudan"; neither names a state, town or village. The finest place named is a region along the Nile, larger than any province that takes a point, and the listing's latitude of 15° N does not agree with "southern" (below).

Source discrepancies

  • Region. RSC in September 2020: "the Nile River region of Sudan". RSC since August 2021 and Kwik Seeds: "the Nile River region of southern Sudan". Donor's note on G 33762: "the Nile River region of South Sudan".
  • Latitude. The listing gives 15° N, the latitude of Khartoum, while its text places the collection in southern Sudan. The two are reported, not reconciled.
  • Flowering. RSC in September 2020: "a long-flowering strain, as can be expected from an equatorial landrace"; Kwik Seeds and RSC in 2020: "c. 12 weeks flowering". RSC now: "very fast-finishing", semi-autoflowering, finishing by early September at 40° N.
  • Genetics line. RSC: "Sudanese Cannabis Landrace". Kwik Seeds: "Traditional Sudanese Domesticate ("Landrace")", with the classification "C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica".

Photographs

None. The listing's photographs, which carry no captions, show plants grown outside Sudan and are on RSC-SDN-UNK-0120080001-R1.
