Identifier

The accession identifier is RLB-RUS-CHE-0120210001, built from the holder, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, the province segment, the month, the year and the sequence number.

  • Holder segment RLB stands for Landrace Bureau, which some listings and other sellers call the Russian Landrace Bureau.
  • Province segment CHE is for Chelyabinsk Oblast, in which Lake Chebarkul lies. The listing names the lake and places it in Bashkortostan (see below); the oblast is a gazetteer fact.
  • Year 2021 is the year of the earliest dated document found that lists the line: the Wayback Machine's capture of 11 February 2021 of the company's shop (https://web.archive.org/web/20210211113414/https://landracebureau.com/), which offers a seed line called Bashkortostan under the heading Northern Asian Ruderalis. The page takes that line to be the unselected Lake Chebarkul seed sold today as Wild Siberian. The company's later listings say that the Lake Chebarkul seed comes "Direct from Bashkortpstan", the Wild Siberian listing is the one headed "Bashkortostan, Russia", and the product photograph of the 2021 line (file 34ce2fb7d2ea827ce5113986b10f28e0.jpg) is still in the image gallery of the company's Black Russian listing. The three present names first appear in the capture of 11 May 2024 (https://web.archive.org/web/20240511225749/https://www.landracebureau.com/). No source gives a collection year. The company's project page for the line is titled "Siberian Ruderalis Preservation Project 2019", a year in a name, and its home page of May 2024 said that it first hunted the line in 2015, a claim about its sourcing; neither is a dated listing, and neither is used. The year is a lower bound, not a collection date, and moves if an earlier listing is found.
  • Month 01 is the placeholder used when the year comes from first attestation.
  • Sequence 0001. It is the holder's only accession for this province segment and year.

Sourcing

The company's listing (https://www.landracebureau.com/product-page/pure-siberian) was read on 19 and 21 October 2026 and saved, with the Wayback Machine's earliest capture of it, of 15 June 2025; the description is the same in both. Every statement about the line's origin, plants and aroma is the company's own account of its stock and is attributed to it. The listing names no collector and no village, and gives no date of collection.

The company's project page for the line (https://www.landracebureau.com/projects/siberian-ruderalis-preservation-project-2019, Wayback capture of 23 June 2025) carries the same description. A buyer's Overgrow post of 31 January 2021 (https://overgrow.com/t/44252/1) reports breeder packs of "Russian - Bashkortostan and Crimean Peninsula genetics" on their way from the RLB; it agrees with the shop of February 2021 but is not used as a source for the line.

Typing

  • Classification: Unknown. The company calls the plants feral and the line a landrace; that is its own claim and is attributed in the article. A seller's listing does not establish the class of the source population, and nothing else on the page shows what kind of population the seed came from.
  • Sourcing type: Unknown provenance. The company says that the seed was collected in Russia, but no other source records the chain of custody from a source population to the seed on sale.
  • Accession type is left empty. The company sells the seed as not reproduced, but SeedFinder's lineage for the company's Siberian Landrace Bashkortostan reads "(F4)", and a buyer's post of September 2021 describes F2 selections of the Bashkortostan seed (see Identifier). Which of these the seed on sale is, no source settles.
  • Photoperiod response: Day-neutral, for the company's "Super-Autoflower".
  • Traits. The heights (converted from feet) and the aromas in the infobox are the company's own descriptions.

Source discrepancies

  • Republic. The listing reads "Location: Lake Chebarkul, Southern Siberian, Bashkortostan Russia". Lake Chebarkul lies in Chelyabinsk Oblast, not in Bashkortostan, and not in Siberia. The article names the lake and leaves out the republic.
  • Coordinates. The listing gives "Lat: 55.1 Lon: 59.9" and, in its soil note, "54’ N 60’ L". Both points are in Chelyabinsk Oblast (OpenStreetMap): 55.1, 59.9 is in Miass Urban Okrug, about 31 km north-west of the lake, and 54, 60 is in Verkhneuralsky Municipal Okrug, about 110 km south of it. They are about 120 km apart.
  • Height. The specification gives "Height: 6-12 ft"; the note below it on the same page gives "Height - 6-8ft". The infobox follows the specification.

Georeferencing

The point 54.96, 60.32 is the middle of Lake Chebarkul, OpenStreetMap relation 1692091 (a lake of about 17 km²), inside its outline, as on KHA-RUS-CHE-0120190001. The listing's own coordinates disagree with each other by about 120 km and with the lake it names (see above), so neither is used as the holder's point; the named lake is the finest place the sources agree on. The town of Chebarkul (relation 10185422) is about 3 km north-east of the point. It is an area point for the lake and its shores, not the place the seed was gathered. Basis: district point. Uncertainty: about 10 km, covering the lake, its shores and the town.

Conservation priority

Not rated. The listing gives nothing about the size or status of a source population.
