Dating
The statement is dated Monday 26 October 2026 and does not say when the unit destroyed the cannabis ("عملت وحدة من الجيش على إتلاف", a unit of the army worked to destroy). The stored date is that of the statement, so the destruction took place on that day or earlier.
Quantities
The statement gives the area in dunums ("حوالي ١٨٠ دنمًا", about 180 dunums) and does not define the unit. No hectare figure is stored. It also says the unit seized "كمية كبيرة منها تقدر بحوالي ٦٠ طنًّا", a large quantity of it estimated at about 60 tonnes. That is the army's estimate and not a weighed seizure, so the summary attributes it and no quantity is stored.
Place
The statement names the place as "منطقة جباب الحمر – الهرمل" (the area of Jabab al-Hamr, Hermel) and does not locate it more closely. Hermel District and Baalbek-Hermel Governorate are added from that name. Jabab al-Hamr has no entry in Wikidata, and a search of OpenStreetMap under the Arabic and Latin spellings found no point for it.
Map pin
The pin is Wikidata's point for Hermel District (Q2347572), rounded to two decimals, and marks the district, not the fields.
Related news items
The same statement reports other operations: a raid on a house in Brital in Baalbek District that ended in one arrest, the arrest of three people for smuggling at Bani Sakhr in Akkar, and the arrest of 22 Syrians for entering the country illegally. None of them is recorded in this news item. Earlier army statements on cannabis in Baalbek-Hermel have their own news items: 60 dunums at al-Kanisa (10 October) and 14 cannabis tents (13 October). The statement does not link this operation to either.
Sources not used
The item follows the statement on the website of the Lebanese Army (Lebanese Army Command, 26 October 2026), which is in Arabic. A report of it in the Daily Beirut was not used.
