Discussion

Dating

First India's article is stamped "14 Oct-2026 19:48 PM" and gives no date for the raid or the destruction. The stored date, 14 October 2026, is the article's publication date, and the operation may have taken place earlier.

Quantities

The article gives "approximately 1,33,000 illicit cannabis plants" and "approximately 57 hectares", which the summary and the stored plant and hectare fields follow. It also says that, "based on an estimated potential yield of approximately 39,900 kg of ganja", the "indicative market value was assessed at approximately ₹199.50 crore, calculated at an assumed rate of ₹50,000 per kg". The yield and the value are projections and no seized weight is stated, so neither is stored as a quantity.

The same agencies destroyed cannabis in the same tehsil on 7 October 2026 under a different operation name, at a different village and on a different scale: 7,577 plants at Nayawas (7 October). The article does not link the two operations, and this news item covers only the one at Mandwa.

Map pin

The pin is OpenStreetMap's point for Mandwa village in Kotra tehsil, Udaipur district, rounded to two decimals. Other places called Mandwa exist, including one in Sirohi district; the article names Kotra tehsil and Udaipur district, which fixes the village. Wikidata has no entry for the village.

Sources not used

The article reads like an agency release, but it names no originator, and no release from the Narcotics Control Bureau was found. This news item rests on First India alone.
