NCB and ANTF destroy 7,577 cannabis plants on about 10 bighas in the Kotra area of Udaipur in Operation Shankar

ETV Bharat Rajasthan reported that on Wednesday 7 October 2026 a joint team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Jodhpur and the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Rajasthan, with local police, destroyed a cannabis crop on about 10 bighas of land in the Kotra police station area of Udaipur district, in an operation called Operation Shankar. The report says 7,577 plants were uprooted, and that the growers tried to cut and remove the crop overnight before the action but did not succeed. The NCB Jodhpur zonal director said the plants would have yielded about 2,273 kg of ganja. Dainik Bhaskar reported the same operation at Nayawas village in Kotra.
