Map pin
This news item has no map pin. None of the reports read names an interchange, toll plaza or district; they place the seizure only "off" or "near" the M-2 Motorway, which runs between Islamabad and Lahore.
Quantities
1,200 kg is the figure in the customs statement, which does not say how it was weighed. The poppy seeds are not cannabis and are not part of that figure. The Rs5.40 billion valuation is customs' own estimate; with the vehicle and other items customs put the total at about Rs5.41 billion.
Sources not used
PhotoNews cites the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and the Customs Act, 1962, where the other reports read cite the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997 and the Customs Act, 1969. It was not used. ProPakistani alone says the consignment was intended for districts of Punjab.
