Customs recover 1,200 kg of charas from a vehicle off the M-2 Motorway

Pakistan Today reported, citing a statement by Pakistan Customs, that the Anti-Smuggling Squad of the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Islamabad, recovered 1,200 kg of charas and about 100 kg of poppy seeds from a Toyota Prado off the M-2 Motorway at about 02:30 on 2 October 2026. The suspects fled and a first information report was registered against unknown persons. A firearm was also seized. Customs estimated the value of the narcotics at about Rs5.40 billion.
