Source discrepancies
Three reports of the same case differ on the value and on what happened to the plants.
| Outlet | Value of the plants | Wording on what happened to the plants |
|---|---|---|
| Telangana Today (cited) | "valued at Rs 1.50 crore" | "seized the plants" |
| Namasthe Telangana | "మొక్కల విలువ సుమారు రూ.1.50 కోట్లుగా అంచనా వేశారు" (in English: the value of the plants was estimated at about Rs 1.50 crore) | "మొత్తం 1,245 గంజాయి మొక్కలను వేర్లతో సహా స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు" (in English: seized all 1,245 ganja plants with their roots) |
| HMTV | "సుమారు రూ.1.25 కోట్లు ఉంటుందని పోలీసులు అంచనా వేశారు" (in English: police estimated it at about Rs 1.25 crore) | Headline "గంజాయి తోట ధ్వంసం" (in English: ganja garden destroyed); body "1,245 గంజాయి మొక్కలను వేర్లతో సహా స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు" (in English: seized 1,245 ganja plants with their roots) |
This news item follows Telangana Today, the cited source, and gives about 1.5 crore rupees. It describes the plants as seized.
Dating
Telangana Today was published "15 September 2026, 02:36 PM". It says the father and son were arrested "at the Jainoor mandal centre on Monday" and that the father was first held "during a vehicle check in Jainoor on Sunday night". The Monday before Tuesday 15 September 2026 is 14 September and the Sunday night is 13 September. Namasthe Telangana gives the dates directly: "సెప్టెంబర్ 14న అరెస్ట్ చేశారు" (in English: arrested on 14 September) and "సెప్టెంబర్ 13న" (in English: on 13 September) for the check on the father. The sources read give no date for the search of the field. This news item carries 14 September 2026, the date of the arrests.
Quantities
Telangana Today says the father was growing the crop "in his 10-acre cotton field". The 10-acre figure is the cotton field as a whole, and this news item carries no hectares figure for the cannabis. The article also says "Police estimated the seized plants could generate income around three times higher than the assessed value". This news item gives the valuation of about 1.5 crore rupees and not that estimate.
Place
| Outlet | Where the sources place the cultivation and the arrests |
|---|---|
| Telangana Today (cited) | Field: "from their cotton field at Nagolkonda village in Nanoor mandal". Arrests: "at the Jainoor mandal centre". |

| HMTV | "జైనూర్ పోలీస్ స్టేషన్ పరిధిలో గంజాయి సాగు చేస్తున్నట్లు" (in English: that ganja was being cultivated within the limits of Jainoor police station) |
This news item gives Jainoor as the locality, both placings in its summary, and no mandal.
