Dating
The press release is issued on Saturday 19 September 2026. It says the seizure happened on 2 September ("Hong Kong Customs on September 2 detected the largest-ever seaborne drug trafficking case") and that the controlled delivery arrests were made "in Mong Kok on September 17". The item is dated to the seizure, 2 September, and gives the arrests in the summary.
Attribution
Thailand is the declared origin of the container: "declared as carrying insulated boxes and arriving in Hong Kong from Thailand". The release does not say where the cannabis was grown or packed. The value of "$125 million" is the department's estimate in Hong Kong dollars and is not stored.
Place
The seizure was made at the Kwai Chung Customhouse Cargo Examination Compound. The two local men were arrested in Mong Kok, and the Vietnamese man "who arrived to collect the consignment". The item places the event at Kwai Chung.
Map pin
The compound has no gazetteer entry. The pin is Wikidata's point for the Kwai Chung area (Q591960), rounded to two decimals, as a jurisdiction centre. It does not mark the compound.
