Correction: event restored
From 19 January 2026 until this correction, the page did not describe the event its title names. A stray line of text sat above the item, and every field repeated the [item of 9 January 2026]: 20 operations in Tinglayan between 16 December 2025 and 6 January 2026, 159,100 plants, sourced to the Philippine Information Agency. That event was counted twice and the 13 January operations were missing.
This news item now describes the 13 January 2026 operations again, checked against the cited report (published 16 January 2026):
| Field | Was | Now | The report |
|---|---|---|---|
| Date | 9 January 2026 | 13 January 2026 | "on Tuesday, January 13, 2026" |
| Plants | 159,100 | 81,500 | "approximately 81,500 marijuana plants" |
| Area | not given | 0.52 hectares | "about 5,200 square meters" |
| Value, in the summary | ₱31.76 million | ₱16.3 million | "an estimated ₱16.3 million worth of marijuana plants" |
| Agencies | Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO); Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) | KPPO; Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) | "jointly by the KPPO, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and other law enforcement units" |
| Source | Philippine Information Agency | the report above |
The place fields now follow the other news items about Tinglayan (province Kalinga, municipality Tinglayan), and no growing region is given. The two news items describe separate events: the holiday operations ended on 6 January and these took place on 13 January. Éloise 02:42, 5 October 2026 (+07)
Quantities
The report gives the area as about 5,200 square metres, stored here as 0.52 hectares. The ₱16.3 million value is the report's estimate; the summary gives it as such and it is not stored as a quantity. The plant total is the report's own, and its figures for the five barangays (Loccong 52,000, Buscalan 5,000, Butbut Proper 8,000, Ngibat 6,000, Tulgao East 10,500) add up to it. Map pin
The report names five barangays and no site within them. The pin, 17.25, 121.10, is the middle of the area the five cover, taken from OpenStreetMap's place points for Loccong, Buscalan, Butbut, Ngibat and Tulgao East and written to two decimals. It replaces 17.3, 121.5, the pin of the 9 January news item. Éloise 02:42, 5 October 2026 (+07)
