TeeNee.com posted the report on Friday 22 February 2013 ("ศุกร์ ที่ 22 กุมภาพันธ์ 2556", Buddhist Era 2556). It does not give the day of the inspection. The stored date is the posting date.
Quantities
The areas in the report belong to the opium field: 250 rai of forest cleared, of which "มีการปลูกต้นฝิ่นไปแล้วถึง 100 ไร่" (100 rai already planted with opium). The cannabis was "ปลูกต้นกัญชาแซมไว้ตลอดแปลง" (interplanted throughout the plots), with no area or plant count, so no quantity is stored. The value of 3,000 million baht the police put on the destroyed crop is for the opium in all 18 plots. It is left out of the summary.
Place
The cleared area spans two adjoining reserves: Mae Sam Muen National Reserve Forest (Mae Tuen subdistrict, Mae Ramat District, Tak) and Omkoi National Reserve Forest (Omkoi District, Chiang Mai). The police said the local station, Mae Ramat police, would take the case on. The district field follows that.
Map pin
This news item has no map pin. The cleared area spans two provinces. The report places the two sites searched (points 12 and 13 of 18) no closer than the reserves.
