Identifier

The accession identifier is NPG-LAO-LNA-0020220001, built to the grammar in the project's naming reference: holder NPG (the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System), ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country, province segment, month and year of collection, sequence. The source gives the year of collection but no month, so the month is 00. The sequence counts this holder's accessions with the same country, province and date. The genebank's own number is G 33693.

Sourcing

Everything on this page comes from the GRIN-Global entry, as it stood on 27 October 2026: the passport data, the source history and the donor's narrative. The narrative is the donor's own account of the seed, edited lightly by the curator. GRIN's collector field names Angus on every accession of this donation, including those whose narratives name someone else or nobody, so it is not used here. The entry says the accession was, or was attempted to be, included in the 2024 genome sequencing and phenotyping trial run by the USDA Agricultural Research Service with HudsonAlpha. It also carries the curator's notes and trial measurements from field trials in the United States. The article does not report them: they describe plants grown in those trials, not the population where the seed was gathered.

Place and classification

The passport gives Louang Namtha, Laos, as the origin, and the narrative says a Lao enthusiast brought the line's seed back from Shan State to grow at home. The infobox gives the place where this lot was gathered, and the classification "Other" because the plants were grown away from the place the line comes from; the line's origin is stated in the article. The passport's improvement status is landrace.

Other accessions

The wiki's Burmese accessions of The Real Seed Company are dated 2021, 2023 and 2025 and filed under Shan State. This lot was gathered in Laos in the winter of 2022, a season none of them is dated to, so they are kept apart.

Collection date

The note says "winter 2022". The identifier and the infobox use 2022 with no month.

Georeferencing

The point 20.96504, 100.82074 is the one the entry publishes for this lot; the donor added it in September 2026. OpenStreetMap places it at the village of Louangphakham, Long District, Luang Namtha (node 4687023279). The narrative names Luang Namtha Province and no place within it, so the point is finer than the text it goes with; it is used as the holder's own, at the precision published, and is not shown to be the place the seed was gathered. Basis: holder's georeference. Uncertainty: not stated by the genebank.
