Evidentiary scope

The label places the plant In campo graminoso prope Czalaubań (in a grassy field near Chalaubani) in Kakheti, on 30 July 1900 (17 July in the Julian calendar). It gives no use and no note on cultivation. The plant grew in grassland, outside cultivation. The accession is classified Feral, by inference from the label; the label does not say whether the plants descended from a crop. A single gathering does not establish a continuing population, and no conservation priority is assigned. An earlier version of this note classified the sheet as Other because a single gathering does not establish a landrace or a continuing population.

The place name. Both readings give Czalauban with a mark over the n (ń, or n with an apostrophe); the catalogue has Czalanban.
The stamped number 7519 near the barcode is a registration number of the herbarium, not a field number.
A pencilled 1973 in the lower right corner, in the hand seen on nearly every sheet of this series in the herbarium, says nothing about its purpose and is not used.

Georeferencing

The point 41.64, 45.82 is the village of Chalaubani (ჩალაუბანი, Чалаубани), OpenStreetMap node 449107402, in Gurjaani Municipality, Kakheti; Czalaubań is its name in Polish spelling, and it is the only place of the name in the Georgian area searched. Kardanakhi, the village printed on the label and struck out, is 6.8 km away in the same municipality (node 11876710842). The label puts the field near the village. SRTM gives 744 m; the label gives no altitude. The herbarium's database publishes the point 41.562145, 45.631299 for this sheet; it lies in Sagarejo Municipality, 17.5 km west-south-west of Chalaubani, and is not used. Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 3 km.
