Evidentiary scope
The label records the plants as Cultivated by Mêo people for weaving, on Doi Langka at about 1,100 metres, on 2 December 1933. The Mêo are the people now called Hmong. The label gives the local name Pān (ป่าน, a name for fibre hemp). It records no variety name and no seed. Drug-type cannabis from different regions began to be cross-bred, and its seed carried into old growing areas, in the 1970s (McPartland and Small 2020, pp. 84–85), so a hybrid origin is not considered for a sheet gathered in 1933. The accession is classified Landrace, by inference from the label. The sheet does not show what became of the crop or whether its seed survives, and no conservation priority is assigned.
Georeferencing
The label names the same places as Garrett 851, Doi Langka (ดอยลังกา) and Mê Soi (แม่สอย), at about 1,100 metres by aneroid. The infobox uses the same point, the hamlet of Ban Doi Lanka (OpenStreetMap node/9869356332) at 18.97, 99.42, which stands at 1,039 m on SRTM. The stream Nam Mae Soi (way/1076726762) runs beside it. The point places the gathering to within about 5 km. Both features lie in Mueang Pan District, Lampang Province.
Editorial treatment
The collector field uses the label form H. B. G. Garrett. The elevation field stores the label's aneroid figure of 1,100 m.
The Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle holds a Garrett sheet of 2 December 1933, catalogue P06884295 (GBIF occurrence 731719491). Its Kew label reads 851, so it belongs to Garrett 851 and not to this gathering.
The infobox shows the Edinburgh duplicate, which the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh publishes under CC BY-SA 2.5, in preference to a fair-use copy of the Forest Herbarium's scan. The Forest Herbarium's own scan of SN 009248, which the herbarium publishes with all rights reserved, is shown in the Sheets section under fair use, with the rationale on its file page: the article quotes its label.

- The catalogue gives the major area as Chiang Rai. The label names no province. The places it names lie in Lampang Province, which the province field follows.

Edinburgh duplicate
The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh holds a duplicate of this gathering, E01459333 (catalogue). Its Kew label, read from the garden's image at full resolution (6869 × 10146 pixels), reads EX HERB. HORT. BOT. REG. KEW. / Siam / 852 / Cannabis sativa Linn. / 3.12.33 / H. B. Garrett. The first figure of the date has a flat top and a single lower curve, unlike the 2 of 12 beside it, and is read as 3. The catalogue records no collector, number, date or country and files the sheet under the herbarium region 6B (Indo-China); the number on the label places it in this gathering.
