Sources

  • Brand and Zhao (2017), a survey of cannabis in the bencao. Its translations of the Shennong bencao jing, the Mingyi bielu and Tao Hongjing are quoted in its own English.
  • The Shennong bencao jing (Sun Xingyan's edition), the Zhenglei bencao and the Bencao gangmu (Siku quanshu editions), and the Shanghan lun, for the passages they are cited for.
  • The Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal for the Donguibogam prescriptions.

Left out

  • Mafei san: no ingredient list survives, so it is given only as a speculated link, with Brand and Zhao's judgement.
  • Unnamed mixtures appear as a list, not as pages.
  • The 1935 Yaowu tukao of Yang Huating, with its new indications for the inflorescence, is not cited; Brand and Zhao report it from a modern compendium.
