Dakshinkali General Population 2021 is a landrace cannabis accession from Makwanpur District, Nepal, listed as Dakshinkali in the seed catalogue of The Real Seed Company (RSC).[1] RSC classifies it as a Himalayan "mountain ganja" landrace.[1]
Geography
RSC gives the place of sourcing as Makwanpur in the Nepal Himalaya. It describes the collection area as the highlands south of Kathmandu, at a latitude of about 27° N.[1]
Collection Details
The listing gives the sourcing as The Real Seed Company in Makwanpur. It dates the seed to the winter 2021 harvest and names no village or farmer.[1] Kwik Seeds, which RSC calls its other site,[2] carries the same text.[3]
RSC reports that the viability of this seed has fallen below 80 per cent and that a recent germination test found it to be about 60 to 70 per cent viable.[1]
Cultivation Details
RSC describes the variety as cultivated for both ganja (bud) and dry-sieved garda charas.[1] It gives the harvest as October and an outdoor height of up to about 4 metres.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
RSC describes a large, narrow-leafleted Sativa-type landrace. It lists the plants as hardy and tolerant of humidity.[1]
