Dzamal (North) General Population 2025 is a landrace cannabis accession from Ambanja District, northern Madagascar. The Real Seed Company (RSC) lists the line as Dzamal from northern Madagascar and classifies it as a Malagasy landrace.[1]
Geography
RSC describes the collection area as the humid highlands of northern Madagascar, at a latitude of about 14° S.[1] The Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, on the shop RSC calls its other site,[2] names the collection area as the highlands of Ambanja District. It says the variety is cultivated in the "Sambarino Highlands".[3] RSC's own listing gave both names in April 2026.[4] Both listings describe the climate of the growing region as highly variable and often rainy.[1][3]
Collection Details
Both listings give the source of the seed as Tody Seeds, Madagascar (2025). Neither names a village or farmer.[1][3]
Cultivation Details
RSC gives the line's purpose as ganja, which it glosses as seedless or lightly seeded buds.[1] It gives the regional growing period as about six months from seed to harvest and lists greenhouse or outdoor growing.[1]
Botanical Characteristics
RSC describes a Sativa-type architecture and two main phenotypes: one lime green (maintsoa) and the other dark purple (sakai or parasy).[1] It notes cultivator reports of citrus and "red-haired" expressions.[1] RSC reports excellent resistance to pests and to diseases such as mould.[1]
Aroma
According to RSC, the lime-green type has a strong mango-carrot aroma. The dark-purple type shows aromas of pepper, pine and spices.[1]
Effects
RSC summarises the high as energising, euphoric and luminous.[1] It describes the lime-green type's effect as electric, inspiring and energising. In the dark-purple type it reports an initial rush that evens out into a calm and trippy high.[1]
