Phengnaren 483 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Wang Nam Khiao in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, north-eastern Thailand, on 16 June 1968 by S. Phengnaren. The Forest Herbarium (BKF) in Bangkok holds the sheet as accession BKF 36337, barcode SN 009259.[1] The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris holds a duplicate as catalogue P06884307, published by GBIF as preserved specimen occurrence 731731222.[2]
Collection and locality
The typed Flora of Thailand label of the Forest Herbarium gives the locality as Eastern: Nakhon Ratchasima, Pak Thong Chai, Wang Nam Khieo., the altitude as 370 m and the date as June 16, 1968.[3] The Paris duplicate is catalogued with the same locality, altitude and date.[2] The Forest Herbarium's catalogue gives the date as 16 July 1968.[1]
Field observations
The label describes the plant as a Shrub 1 m tall, flowers yellowish.[3]
Specimen and identification
The label spells the name Canabis sativa Linn. and names S. Phengnaren as both collector and determiner, under the number 483.[3] Its margin carries the pencilled letters L, K, P.[3] The catalogue records the plant as Cannabis sativa L.[1] Praphat 729 was collected at the same place six weeks later.
