Papua water police arrest a courier with about 4 kg of cannabis boarding a ship for Sorong at Jayapura port

ANTARA reported that the Papua regional police's water police directorate, through its law enforcement subdirectorate, arrested a courier identified by his initials on Saturday night 17 October as he was about to board the KM Sinabung for Sorong, Southwest Papua. The directorate's chief said the courier carried about four kilograms of cannabis to be distributed in Sorong and had been promised Rp5 million. He said a preliminary examination indicated that the cannabis came from Papua New Guinea, smuggled along paths on the border.
