Police seize 338 kg of ganja hidden among fish crates on the ECR at Kulathur and arrest three

The Hindu reported that police seized 338 kg of ganja during a vehicle check on the East Coast Road at Kulathur in Thoothukudi district late on 2 October 2026 and arrested three men. The ganja, in 169 bundles of about 2 kg each, was found concealed among fish crates in a car and a mini fish truck. According to police sources, it had been smuggled from Andhra Pradesh and was to be taken into Sri Lanka.
