Excise and forest officials seize 292 cannabis plants grown inside the BRT Tiger Reserve
Star of Mysore reported that Excise Department officials, in a joint operation with the Forest Department, seized 292 cannabis plants weighing 213 kg on 26 September 2026. According to the report, the plants had been grown in the Koli Hatti forest area of Dodda Sampige Reserve Forest inside the BRT Tiger Reserve in Chamarajanagar district. The Excise Department registered a case under the NDPS Act and the Forest Department a case under the Wildlife (Protection) Act against five residents of Nalli Katri Podu in Hanur taluk.
