Gendarmerie seizes close to 22 kg of treated kif at a checkpoint in Relizane and arrests two

Ici l'info, carrying an Algérie Presse Service report, said on 25 September 2026 that the Relizane territorial group of the National Gendarmerie had dismantled a drug trafficking network and seized close to 22 kilograms of treated kif. According to the Gendarmerie communiqué it cites, a suspect vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint and found to hold 22 kg of treated kif hidden inside, and the vehicle's owner was detained; further investigation led to the arrest of a second suspect. Two cars, mobile phones and sums of money were also seized, and the two suspects were to be brought before the prosecutor at the Oued Rhiou court. The communiqué does not give the date of the interception or the origin of the kif.
