Customs seize 16 kg of hydroponic ganja from a passenger arriving from Bangkok at Bengaluru airport

The Deccan Herald reported that customs officials at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru arrested a passenger from Uttar Pradesh arriving from Bangkok on 15 September 2026 and seized 16 kg of hydroponic ganja from his check-in baggage. The newspaper valued the consignment at 5.60 crore rupees. It was one of three hydroponic ganja cases from Bangkok that the airport's customs officials intercepted between 12 and 15 September, together totalling 28.95 kg. The accused was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
