ADSU and customs officers find 6.18 kg of cannabis in a Malaysian passenger's luggage at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport

Le Mauricien reported that officers of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) and the Customs Anti-Narcotics Section (CANS) stopped a 70-year-old man holding a Malaysian passport on Tuesday 15 September, after he landed at Plaisance on flight MK 647 from Kuala Lumpur. The article says 12 wrapped parcels in his luggage held 6.18 kg of suspected cannabis, which it values at more than Rs 5 million. A controlled delivery was cancelled on Thursday when nobody came to the rendezvous. Police told the paper they think the importer recruited an elderly courier, and the inquiry into his role and the cargo's destination continues.
