ADSU investigates a suspected sea route from Thailand to Mauritius after searching a Thai vessel off Baie-du-Tombeau and arresting eight suspects

Defimedia reported that the Anti Drug and Smuggling Unit is investigating a suspected maritime trafficking route between Thailand and Mauritius involving two alleged deliveries of cannabis, which the article puts together at a little over a tonne. A Thai vessel was searched on 23 October off Baie-du-Tombeau, and seven crew members have been arrested since. An eighth suspect was arrested on Tuesday 27 October at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. The article says the unit has photographs of bags suspected of holding cannabis and has seized a package holding a little under a kilogram of cannabis presented as being of Thai origin, and that the suspects face a provisional charge of conspiracy to import a dangerous drug.
